This month the world will experience the release of the much-anticipated Joker film starring legendary actor Joaquin Phoenix and directed by Todd Phillips. The Master (2012): This film tells the story of a WWII veteran struggling to adjust to life after the war. Phoenix’s powerful acting as Freddie Quell shows the reality of post-war American soldiers and the damage it has done in their minds.
Gladiator (2000): Perhaps one of Joaquin Phoenix’s most notable works is this epic historical drama directed by Ridley Scott. Critics praised Phoenix’s acting as Commodus, the amoral and twisted son of Emperor Marcus Aurelius, as he fights against Maximus Decimus Meridius played by Russel Crowe.
Walk The Line (2005): Phoenix portrays Johnny Cash in this biographical drama film and his romance with June Carter (Reese Witherspoon), as he ascends in the country music scene as one of the most influential artists. Both Phoenix’s and Witherspoon’s performances were well received by critics, as they sing, lay instruments and show great chemistry on film.

Galaxies are one of the universe’s biggest observable systems. Andromeda has a bigger and more complex stellar halo than our galaxy, and has cannibalized multiple galaxies in “binge-eating” frenzies at least twice in the last 10 billion years. This monstrous neighbor will eventually swallow up our home galaxy too, and right now scientists are finding out how this will happen.

Even though the Andromeda Galaxy is 2,537 million light years away from Earth, scientists can observe its phenomena by using five different telescopes. Researchers have also been able to recreate Andromeda’s history by analyzing Andromeda’s dense group of stars.

Greta Thunberg, the young Swedish climate activist who has become an internet phenomenon all around the world this year, has spread a message of urgency in regards to fighting climate change. Thunberg first became known for her activism at age 15 in 2018, and now is addressing the elites at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Rob Zombie - known for his blood-soaked and gory films - has built a collection of horror cult classics for more than 15 years, and on September 16th his new film ‘3 From Hell’ premiered as a follow up to his 2003 film ‘House of 1000 Corpses’ and its 2005 sequel ‘The Devil’s Rejects’. This trilogy centers on the Firefly family, a Charles Manson-inspired homicidal family.
Captain Spaulding is back in full force
Zombie picks up the story of the iconic Captain Spaulding, Baby Firefly and Otis Firefly after surviving a furious shootout with the police and being thrown into prison. But pure evil cannot be contained as they manage to escape and go for a terror ride to hell and back. Other cast members include Danny Trejo as Rondo and Daniel Roebuck as Morris Green.
The director will please old-school horror fans with this movie, as the industrial metal artist-turned underground film director takes inspiration from the 70’s horror films aesthetics and violent plots to build what is now a cult trilogy.
Limited theater releases expected
As it’s been the case with many of Rob Zombie’s releases, ‘3 From Hell’ will get a very limited theater release, in sights of maintaining his underground and cult-following director status - something in which he feels very comfortable at.
