Old iPhones

Is your phone more than 3 years old? If so, then you must have noticed that it has become considerably slower than when you first bought it. This is because Apple intentionally reduces the performance output of old iPhones in order to prevent their performance from affecting its battery life; or at least that’s what they want us to think, and not just an easy way to make us buy a newer model.

However, users have found that if you change your iPhone’s region to France its performance will become faster and smoother than in other countries in the world. Why is that? Well, it has to do with a lawsuit from a European country that prohibits Apple from automatically slowing your iPhone down. Everywhere else your device automatically gets slightly slower as your battery gets older.

Tests made on an iPhone 7, which was first released in 2016, show that after changing its location to France it increased its running score from 286,632 to 298,321. The report also claims that older iPads also perform faster after changing the region to France.

Keep in mind that in doing this the battery does decrease its lifespan altogether, but if you’re thinking of changing your old iPhone in the not so distant future, then this hack can make the most out of your phone in its last stages.
