Nokia’s upcoming C series are affordable yet enduring models targeted for those users who are yet to make the jump from feature phones to smartphones. These new entry-level devices feature a particular focus more on their durability and battery life more than on more “smarter” features. The series consists of three different models:
- The Nokia C2 Second Edition: With a FWVGA display, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and up to 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, this model is an affordable option for those interested in a more basic model.
- The Nokia C21: This model features a larger 6.5in display with much higher resolution than its entry-level version. Moreover, with a boosted 8Mp rear camera and 5Mp front-facing camera and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, the C21 is perfect for taking decent pictures and enjoying a better overall smartphone experience.
- Nokia C21 Plus: The higher-end version of these low-priced models offers a boosted battery life and camera, with a 4000mAh battery that matches many modern mid-range smartphones and a competitive 13Mp camera that supports HDR, panorama and beautification effects for pictures. It also features IP52 water and dust resistance.
These smartphones give users such as those over 65 years old to experience the capabilities of a smartphone without investing too much time or money into them. In fact, surveys show that 40% of US residents over 65 still use them, giving Nokia an interesting market opportunity to pursue.
