On September 16, Sony finally unveiled the upcoming video-game console price, specs and release date, which had been long-awaited throughout the year. What we now know is that the PS5 will have two versions: the Standard Edition and the Digital Edition: the major difference between them is the disc drive, as the Digital Edition will only play games using digital downloads instead of discs. We also learned that the Digital Edition will cost $399, while the Standard Edition will be $499.

Both consoles will be released on November 12 in the US, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, but won’t be released until November 19 for the rest of the world. We also had a glimpse of the games it has lined up for its faithful users from day one, including Horizon: Forbidden West and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, plus a God of War sequel, Final Fantasy XVI and a Harry Potter RPG called Hogwarts Legacy. Moreover, the PS5 has backwards compatibility with almost all PS4 games, so players can enjoy the best titles for the previous gen.

As for the tech specs, the PS5 will have an AMD Zen 2-based CPU with 8 cores at 3.5GHz with a memory interface of 16GB GDDR6 / 256-bit and an internal storage capacity of 825GB SSD. Players will enjoy a neat 4K resolution with 120hz 8K Support that will keep everyone at the edge of their seats. It will also come with a new gamepad, the DualSense controller, which includes a microphone inside of the controller, allowing gamers to ditch their headset to communicate with friends.

Let me see a show of hands: how many people want a PS5 as soon as possible? I bet there are many hands in the air right now!

On August 28, Elon Musk showed the world a live demo from his company Neuralink that showed his quest to merge human consciousness with AI, which could bring massive technological advances and improve the world of animal testing.

Founded in 2017, Neuralink has been working on trying to make a computer chip that could be implanted in a person's brain. This may sound like a sci-fi plot for many, even more if we talk about Musk’s long term plans of enabling people to do things like "save and replay memories," or summon their car telepathically.

On the demo, the device was embedded in a lab pig’s skull, which was attached using wires with electrodes capable of detecting, recording, and theoretically even stimulating brain activity. This will allow animal researchers that currently use a lot of neural implants on animal test subjects involving wires poking out through the skin, will now have a completely wireless link covered by the skin that reduces the risk of infection.

Although Neuralink might bring many benefits to scientific research, for example by finding new treatments for Parkinson's disease, experts are also wary that this technology could one day be used to enhance human cognition, blending it with AI, or worse.

Therefore, it’s very important to regulate these new advancements in technology, as well as to remind ourselves how to use it for the benefit of our species and the environment - not for the greed and greed of a few.

The SE, starting at $279 is the budget-priced version which includes many of the new Apple Watch features.

  • iPad & iPad Air: The new iPad features an edge-to-edge10.9-inch Liquid Retina display and the Apple A14 Bionic processor, which is the chip that’s expected to be featured in the iPhone 12. The entry level iPad gets the Apple A12 Bionic chip for improved performance and offers a 40% GPU boost over the last-generation model.

  • Apple One: The brand new Apple One subscription service allows users to bundle Apple’s services into one monthly payment, including iCloud, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+ and Apple News+. Pumpkins are a traditional part of autumn in North America and are regarded as a symbol for Thanksgiving meals in Canada and the US as well as used for decorations around Halloween. They have been around for thousands of years in our continent, and are one of its oldest domesticated plants. They can be cooked in pies, soups, made in tea, or carved to make jack-o’-lanterns! Here are some ideas of how to use them this fall:

  • Turn them in a board game! This is a great idea if you have kids: Use chalkboard paint and letter stickers through the whole pumpkin to turn it into a seasonal word search. Give them a piece of chalk and let them find all the hidden words around it!

  • Make Pumpkin Pie White Hot Chocolate: stir together 3 cups of milk, 1 cup pumpkin puree, and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. ginger, 1/8 tsp. cloves, 1/8 tsp. nutmeg and 1 tsp. vanilla in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and add in 4 oz. white chocolate, chopped, then top with whipped cream in a mug.

  • Use it as a keg! Hollow pumpkins can be used to serve food or drink by scooping out all its innards and seeds and using a coring tool or knife to make a hole 2-3” above the bottom of the pumpkin. Insert a tap in the hole made and fill the pumpkin with your preferred drink like punch, beer or sangria!

  • Use as a Planter: Take a hollow pumpkin and fill it with dirt and fill it around one-third or half full. Choose your favorite plant, remove them from their nursery containers, set them on top of the soil and watch them grow!

Pumpkins are definitely one of the coolest and most recognized emblems of the Halloween season. How will you be using your pumpkins this year?
