As more movies continue to return to theaters, so are some of our most beloved Hollywood heroes, including James Bond, Laurie Strode, Neo and Trinity. Let’s review the most anticipated releases of this fall as we prepare for the upcoming holiday season:

-    Venom (October): Let There Be Carnage: Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as Eddie Brock, also known as the amorphous, liquid-like form named Venom. In the film Brock tries to go back to his career in journalism by interviewing a serial killer who turns into Carnage - Venom’s nemesis.

-    No Time To Die (October 8): Daniel Craig will star in his fifth and last James Bond film, which is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga from a screenplay by several writers including Phoebe Waller-Bridge of ‘Fleabag’ fame. Christoph Waltz, Ana De Armas and Rami Malek will also feature.

-    Halloween Kills (October 15): The latest installment in the Halloween franchise sees Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle return as Laurie Strode and murderer Michael Myers.

-    Dune (October 22): Directed by acclaimed director Denis Villeneuve, this epic science fiction film is based on Frank Herbert’s legendary novel of the same name from 1965. It is supposed to be the first of a two-part adaptation of the book and will feature an ensemble cast including Timothée Chalamet, Stellan Skarsgård, Zendaya and Javier Bardem.

-    The Matrix Resurrections (December 22): Produced, written and directed by Lana Wachowski, it is the sequel to ‘Matrix Revolutions’ and sees Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Ann moss and Jada Pinkett Smith reprise their roles from previous films in the series as Neo, Trinity and Niobe.

Fall is surely bringing tons of action to the big screen. Are you ready?

“Come not between the Dragon and his wrath”

This was not a real living king, but King Lear from the play by William Shakespeare of the same name. The figure of King Lear is based on the mythological king Leir of Britain, who is said to have reigned in the 8th century.

Shakespeare is a master of rewriting history in fictional form. When King Lear mentions the Dragon, he is speaking of himself, in order to represent himself as an ageless, wise but also ferocious king. In modern texts the same line is often rendered as: “Don’t get in my way when I’m angry.” – Not as catchy as the original if you ask us!

Dragons have fascinated humans for ages and it’s no different at Uptown Aces. Our 5-reel slot with 3D graphics – Dragon Orb – is a complete slot with wild symbols, re-spins feature and progressive jackpots!

After announcing plans for a new shared universe of films inspired by Spider-Man characters that began with ‘Venom’ in 2018, ‘Morbius’ is set to be the third installment in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe (SSU) after ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ in 2021. This upcoming film is directed by Swedish director Daniel Espinoza and stars Jared Leto as Michael Morbius, a scientist suffering from a rare blood disease who attempts to cure himself with a form of vampirism.

This is the second character in a super-hero film that Leto has played, after the disappointing reviews of ‘Suicide Squad’ (2016) where he played as The Joker. It also features Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Morbius’ friend who suffers from the same blood disease, and Tyrese Gibson as Simon Stroud, an FBI agent hunting Morbius.

Additionally, Michael Keaton will reprise his role as Vulture from the Marvel Cinematic Universe film ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’. This is part of Sony’s agreement with Disney (Marvel’s parent company) to extend their previous deal to keep Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and cross cinematic universes with the “Avengers” timeline.

The film is set to be released in the United States on January 28, 2022 after being delayed from its initial July 2020 date due to the pandemic.

This month’s teaser trailer for Marvel’s next feature film “Spider-Man: No Way Home” shattered “Avengers: Endgame” 24 hour viewership records with 355.5 million views over 289. The trailer confirmed one of the most followed fan theories of the upcoming film to be released on December 17 which has Tom Holland’s Peter Parker plunging deep into Marvel’s multiverse with characters and actors from previous Spider-Man adaptations appearing back in this one.

Such is the case of Alfred Molina reprising his role as Doctor Octopus from the 2004’s ‘Spider-Man 2’ movie. Other confirmed returning characters include Jamie Foxx coming back as Electro and Willem Dafoe as the legendary Norman Osborn/Green Goblin from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy.

As part of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe, Benedict Cumberbatch will also feature as Dr. Strange who takes the role as Peter Parker’s mentor after Tony Stark’s death in ‘Avengers: Endgame’. The film, which was directed by Jon Watts, has Parker seeking help from Dr. Strange to try and fix the events from the previous film ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ as his reputation is turned upside down following his identity being exposed by Mysterio.

Given that several villains from previous films are coming back for this version, fans are also expecting to see former Spider-Man stars Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield coming back and have a role of some sort in ‘No Way Home’.

Less than a year after Sony’s release of the PS5, the Japan-based company has quietly launched a revised model with a few differences from the original. Reports from different sources have noted that the new model includes a new screw for the base that no longer requires a screwdriver so it can be adjusted at hand for a much easier adjustment.

Additionally, this updated model is also around 300 grams lighter than the original, and is being shipped to Australia and the United States in the coming months. Earlier reports had suggested that these changes were only going to alter the digital version of the console, but it now seems that also the disc edition of the PS5 will also feature these changes.

Even though these might not seem relevant changes for some, these are good news for those waiting to get their hands on the new console as it seems that perhaps a bigger supply of stock is moving forward - given its shortage in the last few months.

Sony is also planning to release a new software update with improvements to the PS5 dashboard UI, 3D audio support for TV speakers and better enhancement for the PS5 versions of last-generation games. Furthermore, the update will also rollout a removable SSD for expandable storage of games.
